Hummingbird Haven
The following images were captured during the summer of 2019 when my wife discovered a hummingbird nest only a few feet away from our back deck. I was able to capture these images over a week and a half, documenting the rapid growth of little Zip and little Zam (as we named them!). Hope you enjoy watching our little hummingbird friends grow and seeing how busy they kept Mother Bird! We are hoping they will return again every year!
#1 - July 27, 2019 - Zip and Zam are barely seen in the nest!

#16 - July 31, 2019 - Zip and Zam continue to grow and anxiously await Mother Bird's return trip!
#55 - August 2, 2019 - Zip and Zam quickly outgrowing their nest and must now face opposite directions in order to fit!
#63 - August 2, 2019 One of the last "meals" before Zip flew away.
#57 - August 2, 2019 - Little Zip stretching wings and preparing to leave the nest.
#66 - August 4, 2019 - Little Zam enjoying the extra space in the nest once Zip flew away.
#75 - August 4, 2019 - Little Zam leaves the nest, but continued to be fed by Mother Bird on a nearby branch.
The following gallery of images depict the rare sight of hummingbird growth over time and the constant care of Mother Bird. These pictures of Little Zip and Little Zam are from the first day I took pictures (July 27th) to when Zam flew away (August 4th, 2019). Enjoy!!!
